NSD 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshow to Sekolah Rendah Sungai Tali, Lumut

Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) co-organised the second NSD 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshow at Sekolah Rendah Sungai Tali, Lumut, Belait on Tuesday, 4 Zulhijjah 1445 corresponding to 11 June 2024. The event was held in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP), Baiduri Bank, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), and Insurans Islam TAIB Family Takaful Sdn Bhd.
Attending as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education. Other invited guests including senior officers from MOE and BDCB.
Over 430 students from Years 3 to 5 from both government and private primary schools under the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs took part in the roadshow. Students had the opportunity to partake in activities that focused on financial topics such as savings, takaful and insurance, retirement planning, and financial consumer protection.
Three more roadshows will be conducted for NSD 2024, which are aimed for primary school students, particularly the Year 3 to Year 5 students.. The next roadshow will be held at Sekolah Rendah Rataie, Mukim Bokok, Temburong on 13 June 2024, followed by Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong on 27 June 2024, and the final roadshow will be at Pusat Tingkatan Enam Sengkurong on 3 July 2024.
The NSD 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshows aim to enhance financial literacy and promote understanding of the Central Bank’s roles and responsibilities. This outreach initiative ensures students across all districts gain early exposure to age-appropriate financial management skills and knowledge.
Further, a Financial Fun Fair is planned for August 2024 at Jerudong Park Playground. This family-friendly event will offer a range of programmes and activities designed to make financial education enjoyable for all ages.
