NSD 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshow for Primary School Students in the Brunei-Muara District

Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) co-hosted its fifth and final National Savings Day (NSD) 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshow at the Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre on Wednesday, 26 Zulhijjah 1445 corresponding to 3 July 2024.

 

This event was organised in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP), CyberSecurity Brunei (CSB), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), BIBD Securities, Baiduri Bank, Standard Chartered Securities, and Takaful Brunei Keluarga (TBK). Exhibitors engaged students in age-appropriate activities, introducing keyfinancial topics, including savings, takaful and insurance, investments, retirement planning, and financial consumer protection.

 

The event was graced by Legislative Council members, Yang Berhormat Dr Haji Mahali bin Haji Momin and Yang Berhormat Amran bin Haji Maidin as the guests of honour.Senior officers from the MOE and BDCB also attended, showing their support for the financial literacy initiative.

 

The series of NSD 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshowssuccessfully reached over 2,100 of Year 3 to 5 primary school students from government and private primary schools under MOE and Ministry of Religious Affairs across the four districts in Brunei Darussalam.

 

The next event for NSD 2024 is the Financial Fun Fair at Jerudong Park Playground, planned for August 2024. This event will feature various family-friendly financial activities suitable for all ages, aiming to further promote financial literacy in a fun and engaging way.
