Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) officially unveiled Mekar FinTech Innovation Centre at level 1, iCentre Building at Kg Anggerek Desa on XX 1446 corresponding to XX 2024. 

The establishment of Mekar FinTech Innovation Centre is a strategic project under the Financial Sector Blueprint 2016 - 2025 and BDCB’s Strategic Plan 2021 - 2025. It acts as a centre to promote collaboration and innovation amongst FinTech community by providing a modern co-working facilities and collaborative event space for FinTech stakeholders.

The launch was officiated by Yang Mulia Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar, Managing Director of BDCB. The event was attended by senior officers in BDCB and representatives from the FinTech stakeholders and community. 

The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Yang Mulia Haji Mohd Khairul Zaki bin Haji Mohidin, Head of FinTech BDCB followed by a keynote address by Yang Mulia Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar, Managing Director of BDCB. The keynote highlighted that Mekar FinTech Innovation Centre serves as a catalyst for FinTech innovation by providing a platform for FinTech stakeholders including entrepreneurs, industry experts, technology providers, academia and the regulator to collaborate and drive innovation and support the growth of FinTech activities in Brunei Darussalam.
